Turn on only the expenses that apply to you. The defaults are illustrative starting points based partly on our September 2026 price research; they are not replacement recommendations.
Recurring costs
Each enabled recurring item is counted once today and again whenever its entered replacement interval is reached.
How the math works
For each enabled item, the calculator counts a purchase now plus subsequent purchases at the interval you enter. A $350 retainer entered at every 24 months is therefore counted at month 0, month 24 and month 48 during a five-year horizon.
Price benchmarks behind the defaults
Our 2026 public-price sample found median observation midpoints of $350 for retainers and $525 for custom night guards. Our direct-to-consumer index separately tracks device pricing. These are reference points, not recommendations for how often anything should be replaced.
Limitations
This is a budgeting tool, not a forecast of medically necessary care. It does not automatically include inflation, insurance, taxes, shipping, financing or unexpected treatment. Replacement timing varies; edit the intervals to fit your situation.
